Est. 1928. The site of Victoria Wharf (1878-1923) where ships loaded sheep and cattle. MP for Tauranga Sir William Herries made a bequest of £1,000 to the Tauranga Borough Council, which by 1928 had been used to establish Herries Park with a memorial stone arch entrance way, a lily pond, concrete paths, gardens, rockeries, lawns, and plantations.
